This week, look out your window, explore your garden, become a "Birder"As the weather cools down, it's a wonderful time to be out in the garden and watching birds. A lot of birds are migrating to their winter grounds during autumn and you can help experts understand their habits by participating in the Birds in Backyards Autumn Survey.

The focus for the 2020 survey is unusual or unexpected birds that turn up in your backyard. The recent fire season has seen many bird communities lose refuge and resources, pushing them into new and unexpected places.

Getting started is easy. Simply head to, sign up and follow the instructions. You can also complete surveys using the Birdata app.

Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Kind
Stay up to date, from reliable sourcesThe response to #COVID19 in Victoria is rapidly moving and changing.

The most important message now is to avoid all gatherings of people, whenever possible. If you are with other people, you must observe the rule of 1 person for every 4 square metres to ensure a safe physical distance. This minimises the chances of transmission and protects the health system.

If you are in doubt about whether or not you should go to an appointment, attend a social engagement, or interact with people you’re not currently living with in your home - the simple answer is don’t.

Your actions now can save lives.

Connect with your community via phone call, email or social media.
