MAT Program Success

Alexandra Community Hub with the support of Foundation For Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR), successfully ran the MAT Program in the last term of 2019.

Two programs were held for 6 sessions, one at the Alexandra Primary School, the other in the Historic Court House precinct, home to Alexandra Community Hub.

Exclamation's from young participants included;

"I loved breaking the board" Chelsea

"I liked how you helped teach us the strategies we know now" Toby

"I like how everyone encouraged each other" Mitch

"We weren't that confident on the first day and now we are" Archie

Each session began and finished with the MAT Program code of;

  • Be Strong
  • Be Kind
  • Be Calm
  • Try Hard

The program reiterated how powerful our mind is and how we need to remember that we can do things, even when we think we can't! As Naomi observed, "we stop ourselves  from doing things that we can do because of negative thoughts.  So think positively, believe you can do things and don't be afraid to make mistakes because that all helps in our learning".

Partnerships make us stronger as individuals and as a community.  The board and team at the Alexandra Community Hub would like to take this opportunity to thank FRRR, the MAT Program facilitators, Alexandra Primary School, the young and youthful participants who supported this program.

Alexandra Community Hub looks forward to providing further beneficial programs next year.  Community members are encouraged to contact the team at "the Hub" to create exciting new programs, courses and partnerships.

"Every service, course and activity we do is aimed at providing benefits to our community,” the team at Alexandra Community Hub.

Providing nationally recognised certificate courses and other services to the Alexandra community.
